Vintage Metal Magic

By January 1989, Hobby Products had begun to introduce new figures into their Fantasy line with flat, disc bases.

These replaced all of the original figures and by the time of the 1990 catalog no original models were left. Set names were kept between the two ranges but the set codes changed from Mxxxx to Cxxxx. Miniatures found in the 1986 and 1987 Hobby Products catalogs.

All of these original figures are easily distinguished from the later Hobby Products ranges by their unmarked, irregular, textured bases.

Metal Magic Minis produced after 1989 are easily identifiable by disc base and the stamp on their base: An HP for Hobby Products along with a the initials of the sculptor such as JO for the Josef Ochmann as found on the majority of the figures or initials for Michael Immig, Paul Henni, Dave Sparrow, Mike French or Werner Klocke.
